Waterloo-based social development organisation Inner Sydney Voice will run four free life skills workshops in April and May.

Called ‘Love Thy Neighbour Workshops’, they are designed to empower people with guidance on such topics as conflict resolution and setting clear boundaries.

The sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings from 28th April to 19th May at the rear of Waterloo Library.

Details are as follows: 

Session 1 – What does it mean to be a good neighbour?
Wednesday 28th April
11:00am – 1:00pm

Session 2 – How do we step away from situations?
Wednesday 5th May
11:00am – 1:00pm

Session 3 – Practicing skills in negotiation/conflict resolution
Wednesday 12th May
11:00am – 1:00pm

Session 4 – What happens if it all fails? What next?
Wednesday 19th May
11:00am—1:00pm

Training is delivered over 4 sessions and each session will be 2-3 hours.

To be eligible for this fully funded training, participants must fall under the below categories of disadvantage:

· Disability
· Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
· Unemployed
· Living in regional or remote area
· Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD)
· Commonwealth welfare recipient and their dependents
· Youth at risk
· Language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) barriers
· Second chance learner
· Socioeconomic disadvantage
