South Eastern Community Connect’s hard-working volunteers were appreciated with a special lunch at the Eastlakes Scout Hall on St Helena Parade on Thursday.
Celebrating a great year of supporting the community of Eastlakes and surrounds, volunteers from a number of our different services enjoyed a hearty meal which finished with a celebratory cake.
Our volunteers help with everything from serving on our Board of Directors through to driving our clients to various places, and assisting seniors with their shopping. We also have a volunteer newsletter editor, a team of fruit and vegetable packers, English teachers, and assistants in our out-of-school-hours centres and Dementia Day Centre, The Cottage.
