We offer personalised support for people living with dementia, their families, and carers.
The Cottage is our dedicated dementia day centre.
It provides a safe, secure and friendly environment.
Here, clients can find a sense of belonging and ownership.
Living well with dementia
A dementia diagnosis is not an impediment to enjoying life.
People with dementia can still take part in the community.
The Cottage offers a range of services to people with dementia and memory loss.
The service is a mixture of centre-based day care and diversional therapy.
A harbour view
The Cottage, which overlooks Sydney Harbour, is open from Monday to Friday.
Clients engage in activities drawn up by the Diversional Therapist.
They play ‘hidden memory’ and engage in:
- Social discussions
- Art therapy
- Light gardening
- Gentle exercises; and
- Afternoon drives.
They also enjoy a lunch outing once every six weeks.
Local community groups to volunteer their time in singing, music, or creative entertainment.
Clients can attend with a GP diagnosis or by self-referral.
The daily cost starts at $30.
Who can apply?
The Cottage does not cater for residents of hostels, nursing homes, or people requiring personal care or attention such as toileting.
It is available to those in Woollahra, Botany Bay, Randwick, City of Sydney and Waverley council catchment areas.
