Greg Killeen has received the Rotary Unsung Volunteer Award 2017 for 15 years of volunteering for SECC, devoting countless hours to steer the organisation from strength to strength.

Greg is one of seven volunteers from as many organisations, whose work was recognised at this year’s awards ceremony.

As a member of the SECC Board Greg contributes his expertise in advocacy especially for people living with disabilities to increase funding for different types of flexible community and disability services, and to grow programs that are client focused, person centred and meet the needs of people with disability, their family and carers.

Greg is a hard-working and conscientious volunteer whose dedication continues to improve our community, especially for those living with disabilities. His advocacy resulted in improved building accessibility within local facilities including those owned by council and operated by the community, and increased accessible transport services, in particular taxis and related services.

We thank the Rotary Club of Maroubra for hosting a wonderful awards night for all nominated volunteers and their organisations, and for a generous donation of $300 to support the work of South Eastern Community Connect.
