Every month we spend five minutes with a SECC staff member who’s making a big difference in the community. Today we chat with our awesome Adolescent and Family Worker Tonny Ahmed about guacamole, The Bold and the Beautiful, and why she’s just such a sweetie…

1.       What are three things you love about your current job?

I love the diversity that exists in our community.

It’s great to be able to support and empower young people to be confident in their own abilities.

I’m also grateful for the supportive team I get to work with every day.

2.       What was your first-ever job?

I started working when I was 14 at a Mexican fast food restaurant.

There, I found my passion for guacamole!

3.       What was your favourite TV show growing up?

All through high school, I indulged in watching The Bold & the Beautiful re-runs after school.

After the episode was over, my friends and I would chat the night away about the latest scandal on the show!

4.       Which store would you max out your credit card in if money was no object?

Without a doubt – Kmart!

5.       What was your favourite toy as a kid?

I was once gifted an Elmo bear that I was inseparable from… until I had to give it to my cousin from overseas!

6.       What was your childhood nickname?

My middle name is Sweety – true story. So I have very vivid memories of being called Sweety at school, work, and by my friends growing up.

7.       Do you have any phobias?

I get claustrophobic easily, and don’t get me started on snakes!

8.       What are three things still left on your bucket list?

Bungee jumping in New Zealand; travelling through the Sundarbans forest; and sky diving!
