The COVID-19 pandemic has hit people hard.
And not just those from disadvantaged households.
Some of those impacted the most are:
- At-risk young people
- People seeking asylum and international students who can’t access JobKeeper or JobSeeker payments
- Individuals and families who are Indigenous
- Single parents
- Homeless people
- Boarding house residents
- The elderly or chronically ill
- Students
- Sex workers
- Casual workers who are now struggling to pay the rent and buy groceries.
Every Wednesday, our community care team heads into the community with fresh and non-perishable food for those doing it tough. We also supply them with essential items donated from the local community.
Can you help? Here are three ways you can get involved.
- Give $10 towards a food hamper here.
- Donate groceries or essential items such as toilet paper and paper towels at The SECC Community Hub in Mascot.
- Join our volunteer network by applying here.
With your support we can continue to feed the most vulnerable people in the community.
