With the help of community members who dropped coins into our donation boxes around Eastlakes Shopping Centre recently, we were able to donate $400 to the CWA of NSW.

In July this year, the Country Women’s Association (CWA) of NSW announced $100,000 would be released from its Disaster Relief fund to help farm families in NSW struggling with worsening drought conditions.

Many NSW regions have experienced some of the driest conditions in recent history, after record‐low rainfall and a warmer‐than‐average autumn.

Releasing the money from the Disaster Relief Fund was a tangible way of helping those in need and easing their short‐term financial pain.

South Eastern Community Connect heard about the Disaster Relief Fund and called for donations in boxes across Eastlakes Shopping Centre.

As a result of our efforts, $400 was raised for the Country Women’s Association of NSW and given as a gift this month.

Thanks to everyone who added their spare change to the boxes recently. Every little bit adds up to make a difference.
