August 15-23 is National Science Week, and there are heaps of online activities for kids and adults to enjoy. Sophia Morris has rounded up four ways you can join in the fun.

1. Virtual science

Kids can join the Sydney Science Trail, a virtual experience featuring engaging videos and activities from Australian scientists on a range of topics including animals, technology, space, and plants.

2. Trivia and talks

The National Science Week website features a handy guide to all of the events happening during the week. These include free science trivia nights, talks from leading scientists, and heaps more.

3. Ocean exploration

And if you’re interested in the ocean, every sea-themed event and activity is listed here. You can learn about life on a marine research vessel and the impact of pollution on oceans.

4. Climate change convos

There’s also a panel on August 20 discussing how individuals can help tackle climate change, with scientists and others answering questions from the public.
