Ever wondered who’s working behind the scenes at South Eastern Community Connect (SECC)?

Well, in our new weekly series, we introduce you to each of the staff that make SECC what it is.

Today we interview our queen of family fun – and connoisseur of all manner of mousses – Natasha.

Hi Natasha. What’s your role within SECC?

I’m the Toy Librarian and Family Support Worker. I run the toy library and the playgroups, and help facilitate parenting programs too.

What do you like most about your job?

I like being able to interact and play with children at playgroups – doing arts and crafts, working with playdough and reading books is lots of fun.

What’s the best thing about the service you offer?

Toy Library members are happy they don’t have to worry about where to store their toys and whether their children will take an interest in the toys they’re given. They can simply rotate them as often as they like. Many of the parents at playgroup have also told me they’re grateful for all the groups we run, as they’re able to get out of the house and enjoy doing an activity with their child.

What’s one of your biggest hopes for our local community?

I hope we can continue to offer fun and educational experiences for families.

And on a more serious note, what’s your all-time favourite dessert and why?

My top three are: Bavarian Custard Mousse, Chestnut Mousse, and Watermelon Mousse.
