I’m Sue, the Volunteer Manager at South Eastern Community Connect. I’m passionate about supporting our volunteers and helping them help others. I’ve seen first hand how rewarding and fulfilling volunteering can be. It can reduce stress, provide a sense of purpose and connects you with your local community.

Recognition for hard work

with the Maisie Foster Volunteer Award

South Eastern Community Connect is passionate about recognising the contribution of its volunteers.

In addition to activities in National Volunteer Week (May) and International Volunteer Day (5 December), SECC established the Maisie Foster Volunteer Award to acknowledge its outstanding volunteers.

SECC is also a member of The Centre for Volunteering (Volunteering NSW), which ensures all its member organisations protect their volunteers via Volunteer Accident Insurance and adhere to Volunteering Australia’s National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.

Children's Activities Assistant

Program: Family and Children

We’re currently looking for a volunteer to assist with children’s group activities at SECC playgroups, classes, functions and/or out of school hours (SMOOSH) care.

You will also need to assist with other tasks associated with children’s group activities or playgroups.

Social Activities Assistant (Dementia Day Centre)

The Cottage Dementia Day Centre at Rushcutter’s Bay is seeking a Social Activities Assistant.

The role involves assisting in supervising and participating in activities, games and diversional therapy with clients of the dementia-specific Day Centre at the Cottage.

You would also be required to assist with food preparation and associated cleaning for client morning teas and lunches.

Please get in touch if you can help with this valuable service to people living with dementia. 

Drivers for our flexible transport service

We’re currently looking for experienced drivers who can provide transport, via car, for SECC clients and their carers to attend medical appointments.

You will need to be able to assist clients who have mobility aids such as walking sticks, walking frames and wheelchairs.
