Parenting is a rich and wonderful experience for most of the time, but at times it can also be a challenge.
South Eastern Community Connect runs a range of parenting groups to support parents creating strong, happy families. Parenting groups are an opportunity to meet other parents and talk to parenting experts.
1.2.3 Magic & Emotion Coaching
A regular workshop to learn simple, proven parenting techniques and practical advice for parents of children ages 2–12 in a 3 week workshop.
Dates of upcoming workshops will be published in our newsletter "South Eastern Families Connect", on our news page and on our "South Eastern Kids Connect" facebook page.
No two families are ever alike, and while each person parents their children differently, there are also huge differences in how children and families are supported in different cultures.
We run parenting groups for families from many backgrounds including Arabic, Bangladesh, Spanish, Italian, Baha Indonesian and South Pacific Islanders and Maori backgrounds. Surrounding yourself with people with similar experiences and challenges is important when you are a parent, and finding a network of people from your own culture is invaluable.
Dads and Bubs Bonding
Finally, a 3-week group workshop for new dad's learning to juggle the parenting role with babies up to 9 months of age.
Dads get the opportunity to chat about themselves and their new babies and learn some practical information about child development in a relaxed environment. Dads and Bubs Bonding is open to fathers, grandfathers and male carers and their babies.
Dads and Bubs Bonding runs several times a year with dates being published in our newsletter "South Eastern Families Connect", on our news page and on our "South Eastern Kids Connect" facebook page.
Triple P (Positive Parenting Program)
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program has been shown to help reduce problem behaviour in children aged 2 to 12 years and also reduce children’s emotional problems. The evidence also shows it helps parents feel more confident, less stressed, less angry and less depressed. And that’s a positive!
We run regular Triple P seminars free of charge several times a year with dates being published in our newsletter "South Eastern Families Connect", on our news page and on our "South Eastern Kids Connect" facebook page.
